Youth Festival 2011

It was fun and frolic amidst foot thumping music all day at IMA Hall on 24th September, 2011. The event was the Youth Festival jointly organised by Rotary Club Of Nagpur and Shreesurya Goods & Kapee. A lot of hard work, time, effort and team work goes into organising this mammoth event. It was a perfect platform for the college students to showcase their talents in various events like debate, quiz, solo classical dance, solo singing, mimicry, youth idol, antakshari and group dance.
More than 450 students from over 75 colleges, participated in the mega event vying with each other for the event titles and walked away with a galore of cash prizes.
The prizes in the respective categories were given at the hands of Sameer Joshi and Pallavi Joshi of Shreesurya Group, Rotary Club Of Nagpur President Tauby Bhagwagar, Director New Generations Sonia Khurana and Chairpersons Nilufer Rana and Rakhi Bhatia.
The young participants displayed their unmatched skills in debate. The topic was “Social Networking Sites – a bane or boon”. The participants vehemently supported their views in the keenly contested debate. We had a record number of entries for Solo Singing this year, with the best of best competing with each other. Quiz time was brain testing and a learning experience for one and all. It was pleasure to see Indian culture alive in the form of solo classical dance. After going through an aptitude test, grooming sessions by well known personalities like Mr.Vilas Kale and Mr. Prakash Shesh and various other rounds, the finalists of the Youth Idol countered questions from the judges. The Youth Festival culminated with a crescendo in the form of group dances.
